True or False – Auto Insurance Edition
March 16, 2015
1. You only need the minimum in medical coverage on your auto policy if you have good health insurance.
2. You should get limited tort to save money since you are not the “suing type”.
3. You should skimp on your Underinsurance and Uninsurance coverage.
If your health insurance pays the bills you may have to reimburse your health insurance out of the settlement proceeds. If your auto coverage pays, you do not.
By choosing limited tort you give up your right to pursue a claim in many circumstances. This choice affect not only you but your family members as well and only results in minimal savings.
In fact this is the most important coverage. It protects you and your family in the event that the at-fault party does not have enough insurance or worse, no insurance.
